NHL Playoffs Betting Preview: Rangers Favored

NHL Playoff Betting Preview

In a game that has seen nine different champions in its last 11 seasons, predictions are often pointless! However, no matter how much parity exists between some of the top teams, there’s always one that’ll find its way to rise among others.

Three franchises have already made a resounding statement in this year’s NHL playoffs. The New York Rangers, Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks all appear in great shape for this exhilarating, nail-biting 2015 NHL postseason.

NHL Playoffs Betting Preview: Top Favorites

Last season, many thought that New York overachieved when they made it to the Stanley Cup finals. But, this year, they’ve earned their playoffs spot! For New York, Rick Nash has been peaking at the right time and their superior goaltending in Henrik Lundqvist has driven them amongst the top favorites to claim the Lord Stanley Mug. At Linesmaker, the Rangers are 13/4 favorites to drink from the mug.

Following New York closely are the Anaheim Ducks (9/2). Puckheads just can’t sleep on Bruce Boudreau’s top-seeded Anaheim that appears to be steam-rolling their way to the Western Conference Final. Frederik Andersen has been outstanding all season long and their offensive corps has been one of the best in the league so far.

Apart from Anaheim, the Chicago Blackhawks look in good shape to skate away with the Stanley Cup. Boasting of players such as Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook and Marian Hossa, this veteran squad knows how to finish the job. Moreover, the return of Patrick Kane, even at something less than 100% match-fitness is expected to provide great moral support to the team. The Blackhawks are listed at 9/2 on the updated 2015 Stanley Cup odds to win the championship.

The Dark Horse

Mile Yeo’s Minnesota Wild is among the most dangerous wild-card teams in the playoffs. It was a popular preseason pick that abated, before acquiring goaltender Devan Dubnyk to steady their ship with a 28-9-3 comeback. Listed at 13/2 on the Stanley Cup futures, Minnesota are pegged right below the Canadiens (11/2), with the Flames (10/1) and Detroit Red Wings (15/1) following them.
