Capitals, Blackhawks Favored on NHL Betting Lines

Entering week 18 of the NHL regular season, we continue to witness adrenaline-pumping action as the top hockey teams are making the cut and surpassing their rivals off the charts. While the race to the playoffs gets more demanding, Linesmaker has come forth with an insight into how the top contenders rank up against each other.

NHL Betting Preview

The Capitals looked a tad out of sorts last week, as demonstrated by a 4-3 loss to Philadelphia. They must rebound from it before they face patchy but equally capable Florida. Having come halfway through the season, off to one of the best first halves of the NHL season, Washington may aim to reinforce its defense, especially since defenseman Brooks Orpik’s status hangs in the balance. Listed at 17/4 at Linesmaker to clinch the Stanley Cup, the Capitals will seek to continue exercising their supremacy as the season moves ahead.

Perched on the first spot in the Central Division standings, the Chicago Blackhawks continue to ride high on the stupendous run-of-form of Corey Crawford. While a positive-thinking brand of hockey has been pivotal to the Blackhawks’ success, Artemi Panarin and Patrick Kane continue to chip in with sizable contributions. Priced at 5/1 to reclaim the coveted cup, Chicago will want to put the 0-5 loss to Carolina behind them and come forth with a better play against Colorado.

Grabbing the numero uno spot in the Pacific Division rankings, the Los Angeles Kings have come out as one of the toughest teams to beat in the NHL. The credit goes to the arrival of Milan Lucic into the scheme of things. Coming off a 4-3 loss to Colorado, Los Angeles is pegged at 13/2 to claim the championship title and will be a big challenge for both Washington and Chicago.

Coming in as close second in the division standings, the Dallas Stars have been exemplarily led by a high-powered defense on the way to their present position as one of the better-equipped units in the NHL. However, the goaltending has slackened a bit while the offense has followed it. Listed at 8/1 to grab the Stanley Cup, the Stars look set to beat the odds and emerge as deserving winners.

Having a 22-18-7 record to their credit, the Anaheim Ducks have risen back to life as the season advanced after starting on a dismal note. Although their chances to make the cut are still up in the air, Anaheim continues to inch towards the top position in Pacific Division standings. Currently priced at 12/1 to clinch the elusive cup, the Ducks will have to put in sizable efforts to turn the odds in their favor.

Apart from this, co-listed at 12/1, the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning will aim to land back on their feet as the time passes. Additionally, the St. Louis Blues (16/1), Florida Panthers (18/1), and Boston Bruins (22/1) are the other NHL teams to look out for.
